Pete was inspired to be a children’s writer after reading 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith at the age of nine – and penning a letter to her. With a village pub called The Spotted Dog he should be at home in Flamstead for Books in the Belfry.

He is the author of more than 50 books including How to Train Your Parents and its sequel My Parents are Out of Control, which was short-listed for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. The Bad Spy’s Guide was short-listed for the 2007 Blue Peter Book Award.

Pete was born in Winchester but now lives in St. Albans.
