How to find us

Flamstead is on a hill above the A5, M1 and Ver Valley. The village centre is about one mile from Junction 9 of the M1, where it joins the A5 (to Dunstable) and the A5183 (to St Albans).

See the map on this page for how to get to the village but note that there are several entrances to the churchyard and the main entrance to the festival is from the High Street rather than the one shown for the church.

See the 2014 Main Festival Map (pdf), which may help you find your way around once you arrive.

By car, cycle or on foot

From the M1 J9 – A5 junction, head north west up the A5 for a couple of hundred yards and turn left just before the petrol station on the right. Go up Chequers Hill, continue along Singlets Lane and near the top of the hill you will see the Village Stores and the Spotted Dog pub in the High Street. The Festival venues are close by. The total distance from the A5 is c. 3/4 mile (1 km).

From Dunstable, go along the A5 past Markyate toward the M1 J9 until you get to the Holiday Inn on the left. Turn right into Hollybush Lane and continue for c. 3/4 mile into the village centre where you will see the Three Blackbirds pub. The Festival venues are close by.

You can reach Flamstead from other directions but only along country roads that are very narrow.

For Sat Nav you can use AL3 8BS, the postcode for the Spotted Dog/Coffee Dog. For the Village Hall it’s AL3 8BN.

Car parking areas are shown on the 2014 Festival Map (pdf). Some of the roads in Flamstead are narrow and/or are bus routes. Please park considerately, respecting the needs of the residents.
