See you in the Morning book cover

An evening with Barry Norman

Books in the Belfry is back! After the success of Flamstead’s first ever book festival in June, author and broadcaster Barry Norman will headline a special evening session in the historic setting of St. Leonard’s Church on Friday November 28th.

Barry Norman is one of the nation’s most popular and enduring broadcasters, best known for fronting the BBC’s flagship Film Programme for more than 25 years in a career which has seen him meet some of the world’s biggest movie stars and directors from George Clooney to Martin Scorsese.

He will also talk about his moving memoir See You In The Morning, published in paperback earlier this year. Prompted by the death of his wife Diana in 2011 this candid and witty account of his life is a heartfelt reflection on love, marriage and loss.

After the talk, there will be the opportunity to buy Barry’s book, to meet Barry and have your book signed.

More about the talk

Barry will be in conversation with Festival co-organiser and Flamstead resident Vikki Orvice. She said:

Barry, who lives in Hertfordshire himself, was keen to get involved with us when he heard about Books in the Belfry this summer and has kindly agreed to do this one-off evening session.

It should be a wonderful way to spend a winter evening in the beautiful setting of Flamstead’s medieval church as well as picking up the perfect Christmas present for family and friends with copies of the book available for sale on the night.
