Laura Trinder

Laura studied Fine Art at university where she claims she was pretty much discouraged from drawing. Now a children’s illustrator she founded Improper Books in 2009, a comic and graphic novel imprint that focuses on Gothic stories and fairy-tales.

She is currently working on illustrations for Night Post, a picture book written by Benjamin Read.

Her over-7s workshop for Books in the Belfry will show you how to make an eight-page book from a single sheet of paper as well as designing a cover and filling it with an illustrated story. Such simple paper “mock books” are often used in the industry when sending picture book ideas to publishers

Laura lives in Hertfordshire.
